I'm a truck driver and was lucky enough to deliver nearby in Yonkers. I stopped in for 2 sandwiches for my wife and I. The sandwiches were amazing, definitely in the top 5 of best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Thanks for being open and in the area I delivered to.

If you're looking for great Latin, Puerto Rican/ Dominican food, this is a great place to come to. The food is great, well cooked, the drinks are great and that's including the lemonade which is made fresh. The rice, beans, plantains, mofongo is made to perfection. I highly recommend this place if you need really good Latin food.

I guess I'm just a likeable person, I don't get the bad vibes from any of the staff there. I eat there 3-4 times a week. My go to meal is the Chofan and plantains. Food is flavorful and not dry. Lady at the register "La Flaca" always greets me with a smile and makes me feel welcome. The 3.5 rating is not indicative of the level of service and quality of food there. Only thing they could work on is the decor there, a complete dining room rehab would definitely make this place a lot more appealing on the eyes. Like in anything your experience will differ from others. For me, they gonna continue to get my money and patronage.

Being in a semi with husband we travel a lot! I have eaten so much different food and in so many different places. And I can tell you that this place made my top 10. I had the cuban sandwich and is was so good. The Pork tasted amazing it was so moist and juicy. There was a review I saw that knocked the cuban they were nuts because the pork was differently not dry. It was like I made it in my crockpot at home and it was slow cooking for hours with flavor and the juiciness. My husband had the steak sandwich which was good. It had to be, he inhaled it and was done before me. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again. So if your in the area please stop here you won't regret it.

Solid Dominican food. I’m a regular here. Good mofongo. And I often come for 3 golpe breakfast in the morning. Mangu is too oily for me, yucca is perfect for my taste. Friendly staff. Pretty fast service usually. They accept cards. 10 dollar minimum. Good coffee.

Nestled in the heart of Yonkers at 390 S Broadway, Malecon stands as a beacon for lovers of authentic Latin cuisine, particularly Puerto Rican and Dominican flavors. This establishment has quickly garnered a reputation for its commitment to quality and service, making it a favorite among locals and travelers alike. With the convenience of plenty of parking, it's an accessible stop for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience.

From the moment you walk in, the welcoming atmosphere is palpable. As Amaya Navarro puts it, it's "clean, great and fast service" that sets the tone for what promises to be a memorable meal. Regular customers, such as T Brent, appreciate the vibrant, yet unpretentious vibe, noting that the staff, particularly "La Flaca" at the register, adds a personal touch with her friendly demeanor.

The real star of the show, however, is the food. Each plate showcases a delightful medley of flavors, with highlights including the Chofan and mofongo, which have earned critical acclaim for their bold flavors and perfect cooking. Enrique Vargas sings praises about the well-cooked rice, beans, and fresh lemonade, affirming Malecon's ability to deliver excellence in traditional culinary delights. The sheer joy expressed by patrons like John Steger and Lillian Steger speaks volumes about the sandwiches on offer, especially the cuban sandwich that’s described as "moist and juicy," reminiscent of a homemade dish cooked slowly for hours.

The atmosphere, while cozy, is one area for possible improvement, as T Brent notes a need for a dining room refresh. However, the food's quality and the warmth of the staff far overshadow this aspect, creating an experience that customers wish to repeat time and again.

For anyone in search of genuine Latin fare in Yonkers, Malecon is not just a restaurant; it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you're stopping by after a long road trip or just looking for a new favorite local haunt, this gem promises a culinary adventure that you won't soon forget.
